IBEE Launches New Affinity Service
IBEE has formalized an agreement with the Virtual Builders Exchange, LLC, (VBX) to provide web hosting and technical support services for IBEE member exchanges.
Under the new Affinity Agreement, IBEE will administer the program on behalf of VBX and share in the revenues, while VBX will provide its services to IBEE members.
“It is important for the IBEE to enable members to have a reliable, usable Internet presence,” said Brenda Romano, Partner “IBEE members are becoming increasingly dependent on technology, so we approached VBX. Many of our members were already using the service, and others have a need for it. It’s a good opportunity for all parties.”

The Virtual Builders Exchange was established in early 2001 to provide technological support to users of the Internet Planroom Information Network (IPIN).
“IPIN grew to the point where it needed to be managed on a (larger) Sequel Server, and some IBEE members weren’t in a position to handle the process and hard costs involved in converting,” said Michael Tollette, who owns and operates the Texas-based LLC.
Tollette, who has been providing fee-based consulting services to IPIN users, noted, “People wanted to embrace the technology because they knew it would bring them subscribers, but they needed a leg-up.”
“At the time,” Tollette said, “the IBEE was not ready to step forward and create a web-hosting service, and my Board of Directors was not interested in providing it, so I decided to go forward on my own.”
In addition to web hosting, VBX will provide technical support services for IPIN users through IBEE.
